Job Description
Our client has an opportunity for Reservoir Engineers for their existing assets and New Developments.
Roles:
- This roles provide reservoir engineering support for the Subsurface Group. The role requires working closely with Development Geologists, Petroleum Engineers, Geophysicists, and Petro-physicists in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Build and/or update simulation model.
- Generate forecasts – short term, medium term or Life of Field.
- Identify potential well targets and justify them to management.
- Generate subsurface justifications and well proposals for future wells.
- Analyse well tests.
- Plan well tests.
- Liaise with the Production Engineering group to maximise production.
- Assist in performing risked economic assessments including decision tree analysis.
- Provide operational support as required during formation evaluation operations and assist in making the decisions on data quality.
- Ensure rigorous technical evaluations are completed with appropriate technology applications.
- Participate in peer assists, technical assurance reviews and competitive technical intelligence activities.
- Attend partner meetings and provide technical input to reservoir and operational concerns.
- Make presentations to senior management and partners as required.
- Keep abreast of technology developments (internal and external) and deploy fit-for-purpose new technology.
Qualifications/Experience:
The following skills, experience and qualification are required:
- Bachelors’ degree in Engineering required.
- Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering preferred.
- Proven experience in Reservoir Engineering, preferably with the North Sea and European basins.
- Must have a strong technical background in reservoir engineering and undertaking integrated reservoir studies, including a strong understanding of reservoir characterisation, special core analysis, PVT analysis, oil and gas phase behaviour, volumetric calculations, well tests, recovery estimates, reservoir performance and recovery mechanisms.
- Experience in the evaluation and development of North Sea clastic reservoirs is essential.
- Experience in well test design and analysis to evaluate well performance and reservoir characteristics.
- Must understand the concepts of decision and risk analysis and have an appreciation of the key factors that control uncertainty in recovery factor and reservoir performance.
- Ability to work in a highly charged, fast-paced work environment and simultaneously handle multiple projects.
- Self-motivated to learn and adopt new methods, impart knowledge to others, and coordinate efforts with cross functional teams.
- Proactive analytical skills with attention to detail and an eye for process improvements.
- Demonstrated history of positive teamwork, and ability to contribute in a team environment.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills and commercial understanding.
